The MatePad 12 X competes directly with the 11-inch Apple iPad Air (M3), while the M-Pencil Pro will have to compete with the Apple Pencil Pro.
Huawei has officially launched the MatePad 12 X tablet, featuring an improved 12-inch PaperMatte display, a new M-Pencil Pro stylus, and an optimized ecosystem of applications for work and creativity, including Notes, GoPaint, and WPS Office PC 3.0.
The improved PaperMatte display, supported by nano-etching technology, reduces glare by 50% compared to the previous generation, according to the manufacturer. Thanks to its anti-glare and anti-reflective properties, the MatePad 12 X is suitable for high-intensity work tasks over extended periods in various lighting conditions.
Despite its unibody metal design, the MatePad 12 X weighs only 555g and is 5.9mm thin. With its pearlescent finish, the device exudes a luxurious look and feels smooth and comfortable to hold. Inside, an advanced 3D thermal architecture and PCBA-standard 3D heat distribution process boost overall performance by up to 27% compared to its predecessor.
The MatePad 12 X supports a prominent software ecosystem, including WPS Office PC 3.0, which offers a PC-like interface and experience, allowing users to professionally handle documents, spreadsheets, and presentations directly on the tablet.
On this occasion, Huawei also introduced the new M-Pencil Pro stylus. The pen is equipped with a shortcut key featuring a Star Ring design that allows access to the Notes app. By gently squeezing the pen body, a circular menu appears, providing access to brushes, color palettes, and other tools.
Additionally, the pen rotation feature, exclusive to the GoPaint drawing application, allows users to create unique strokes. The M-Pencil Pro is equipped with three pen tips, designed for distinct purposes including standard writing, fine stroke writing, and drawing, along with 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity.
In terms of price, the MatePad 12 X has a suggested retail price of 15.49 million VND, while the M-Pencil Pro has a suggested retail price of 3.29 million VND. In this not-so-cheap price segment, the MatePad 12 X is directly competing with the Apple iPad Air 11-inches (M3), while the M-Pencil Pro will have to compete with the Apple Pencil Pro.
