The iPhone 16 series has been launched with many modern features, promising to bring users a superior experience. However, with an expected price of nearly 26 million VND (128GB version), should iPhone 15 Pro users consider upgrading to iPhone 16 Pro?
Physical dimensions
The iPhone 15 Pro measures 5.77 inches long and 2.78 inches wide, slightly smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro. However, the thickness of the device has been increased by 0.31 inches.

For the newly launched iPhone 16, Apple has increased their size. The iPhone 16 Pro is 5.89 inches long and 2.81 inches wide, a slight increase over the iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro is also 0.32 inches thicker. Overall, the new iPhone Pro model will be slightly larger and heavier than its predecessor.
Screen quality
The iPhone 15 Pro's display hasn't changed much compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. It's equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,556 x 1,179 pixels and a pixel density of 460 ppi.
iPhone 16 Pro has a brighter display.
The OLED display gives the iPhone 15 Pro excellent contrast ratio and brightness. The device's maximum brightness is typically 1000 nits and can reach 2000 nits when used outdoors. The display also has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, giving users a smooth, eye-pleasing viewing experience.
Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 16 Pro has a larger screen with a size of 6.3 inches, a higher resolution of 2,622 x 1,206 pixels and a pixel density of 460ppi. In addition, the parameters of maximum brightness and refresh rate of the screen of this new iPhone are identical to the previous version.
Camera system
The iPhone 15 Pro has a 48MP main camera, using a second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilization system and an f/1.78 aperture. The iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with a main camera with similar specifications, but Apple has renamed it to Camera Fusion.

The ultra-wide-angle camera on the iPhone 15 Pro only has a resolution of 12MP, aperture f/2.2. With the iPhone 16 Pro version, this camera has been upgraded to 48MP with the same aperture f/2.2.
Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 15 Pro's ultra-wide-angle camera is somewhat limited. The high-end smartphone only has 3x optical zoom with a 12MP sensor and a maximum digital zoom of 15x. However, on the new iPhone 16 Pro models, a 5x optical zoom camera has been applied.
Performance comparison
The iPhone 15 Pro is powered by the A17 Pro chip - the first nanometer chip with a 6-core CPU with 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The device also has a 6-core GPU with ray tracing, hardware acceleration, and dedicated AV1 decoding built in.
iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with A18 Pro chip.
In addition, the device's Neural Engine has also been upgraded with 16 cores capable of performing up to 35 trillion calculations per second, making the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max the first devices to support Apple Intelligence.
On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with an A18 Pro chip manufactured on a 6-core process with 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. Apple announced that the CPU of the A18 Pro is 15% faster than the A17, while also being 20% more energy efficient. In addition, this chip also has a new ML accelerator optimized for Apple Intelligence.

The GPU in the A18 Pro retains its 6-core architecture but is 20% more powerful than the A17 Pro. The Neural Engine remains a 16-core model and has been improved to be faster and more efficient than the previous version, making Apple Intelligence processing smoother and faster.
In short, the A18 Pro chip in the new iPhone 16 Pro will be significantly faster and more powerful than the A17 Pro chip equipped on the iPhone 15 Pro.
Battery and charger
The iPhone 15 Pro's battery can last up to 23 hours of video playback, 20 hours of streaming from the Internet. For audio playback, the battery can last up to 75 hours.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro with its larger battery and better power efficiency can play video for up to 27 hours and stream for 22 hours. Audio playback time is also improved, reaching up to 85 hours.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro both feature a USB-C charging port, which can be charged to 50% in 30 minutes using a 20W or higher charger.
Is the iPhone 16 Pro worth the upgrade?
Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple's new "super product" is really worth upgrading with a larger screen, better optical zoom camera and more powerful chip. Especially for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro users, the upgrade is even more worth considering.
