Apple - From pioneer to trend follower

Apple was once considered the most innovative technology company in the world, always creating trends in the market for competitors to follow. Now, Apple seems to have lost its creativity and become a laggard.

Once a pioneer, taking risks to create trends

Under Steve Jobs, Apple has always been considered the world's leading innovative technology company, always opening up new trends in the market. In fact, Apple is not the company that gives birth to new technologies on its products, but "apple" knows how to highlight those technologies, enough to create trends in the technology world.

On January 9, 2007, Apple surprised the technology world when it officially entered the mobile phone market with the launch of the first version of the iPhone.

The iPhone was not the first touchscreen smartphone to appear on the market, but it is considered the product that changed the entire smartphone market.

Before the iPhone appeared, the mobile phone market was very diverse with many different designs and models. However, after 2007, the mobile phone market seemed to have a unified design, when manufacturers all focused on touch screens, so now smartphones have become saturated because of the similarity in design and features.

Apple's entry into the mobile market in 2007 was considered a risky move, as at that time the market was dominated by seemingly unbeatable giants such as Nokia, Motorola, BlackBerry... while Apple was just a computer company still struggling to compete with Microsoft in the personal computer market.

However, it was Steve Jobs's boldness and risk-taking that brought unexpected success to Apple, when the iPhone quickly "stormed" the mobile market. Major newspapers, the technology world... rated the iPhone as the most groundbreaking product in the mobile phone market.

It was Apple's launch of the iPhone and iOS platform that forced Google to push the development of the Android platform as a counterweight, and now, users have the opportunity to own cheap smartphones at prices equal to those of basic phones in the past, helping smartphones become popular and an indispensable part of many people's lives.

Three years after the iPhone was launched and dominated the smartphone market, Apple continued to launch the iPad, "giving birth" to a new product segment: tablets. Immediately, technology companies focused on this new product segment, helping the tablet market become more vibrant and bustling.

In fact, the iPad was not the first tablet to hit the market. Before Apple, Microsoft had launched a Windows tablet in 2000, 10 years before Apple. Lenovo and HP had also launched Windows tablets long before the iPad.

However, it was not until Apple introduced the iPad that the concept of tablet computers became more popular and widely known. Therefore, it is obvious that Apple is considered the "father" of the concept of tablet computers and the company that created a new trend in the technology market.

Like the iPhone, Apple's launch of the iPad was seen as a risky move, as analysts said the iPad was just an iPhone with a larger screen.

However, this risk once again brought success to Apple when the iPad was warmly welcomed by users and the technology industry. Since its launch in 2010, the iPad has always been the best-selling tablet on the market, although later the iPad faced strong competition from rivals such as Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi...

In 2008, Steve Jobs and Apple launched the MacBook Air laptop. In fact, this was not a new product or opened up a new product category, however, the MacBook Air impressed with its super thin design, only 19mm.
