These are the products expected to be launched by Apple at the event later this year, promising to bring many interesting breakthroughs.
We're halfway through 2024, but most of Apple 's product launches for the year are still ahead. Summer is typically a slow time for new tech releases, but Apple is gearing up for a fall event starting in September with a slew of product announcements.
iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max
The flagship iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max lineup will get major upgrades over last year’s models. Leaks suggest that this year’s iPhone 16 Pro lineup will get the following upgrades:
- Larger display with 6.3 inches for the Pro model and 6.9 inches on the Pro Max model.
- A dedicated hardware button to control camera functions.
- Camera upgrades include a better ultra-wide camera, improved low-light performance, and 5x optical zoom.
- The A18 Pro chip is developed to support the AI platform thanks to the super powerful Neural Engine..
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
Unlike the Pro versions, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will have the same screen size as last year's models. However, the difference from previous tradition is that the 16 and 16 Plus will also be equipped with the A18 Pro chip like the Pro and Pro Max models.
Or maybe there will be an A18 chip version launched for the lower-end models and an A18 Pro for the high-end model. Another feature expected to be on all iPhone 16 models is a physical camera shutter button.
There will likely be other camera improvements and new color options for the standard 16 and 16 Plus, with iOS 18's AI features set to be the main highlight of this year's lineup.
AirPods 4
Apple is planning to launch not one but two separate versions of the AirPods 4. These two models will offer a lower-priced option and a higher-end option, with the AirPods 2 and 3 expected to be dropped from Apple's lineup.
Both AirPods 4 models will feature a USB-C charging case and an upgraded body design that's a cross between the AirPods Pro and AirPods 3. Noise cancellation is said to be exclusive to the premium model, as well as support for a find-your-device function.
AirPods Max 2 Headphones
The AirPods Max will also get an update this fall. The AirPods Max 2 will switch from Lightning charging to USB-C charging and may gain some features currently only available on the AirPods Pro 2, such as Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Personalized Audio.
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple is going one step further with the new Apple Watch Series 10, with both standard sizes getting a size increase. The smaller watch will be the same size as the current larger model, while the larger option will increase in size to match the Watch Ultra's screen size.
The device's case will also be thinner and will have a more powerful chip that could lay the foundation for future Apple Intelligence. Health sensors to detect hypertension and sleep apnea are also expected to be included.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
The Apple Watch Ultra has proven to be a success for Apple, with annual updates delivered since its launch in 2022.
Not much is known about this year’s version of the Watch Ultra 3. It will at least match the new features of the Series 10, including a faster chip and possibly new health sensors. There will likely be a new color option, space black titanium.
Macbook Pro M4
The days of the iPad Pro being the only Apple device with the M4 chip are coming to an end. This fall, Apple is expected to launch new MacBook Pro models with the M4 chip, the M4 Pro, and the M4 Max. The new processor will be the highlight of this year's MacBook Pro line, with no new information about design changes.
iPad mini 7
The iPad mini hasn't had an update since 2021. This year, Apple is expected to update its entire iPad lineup, including the iPad mini. It's possible that the display will get an upgrade and a new processor. The iPad mini may switch to a new M chip to accommodate Apple's Intelligence features.
